Mark Tennyson, General Manager
Dr. Mark Tennyson joined Amgen Australia in 2007 as Corporate Affairs Director to grow a newly formed Corporate Affairs department and build knowledge and best practice in the company’s pricing, reimbursement, policy, communications and advocacy setting. He also led the medical department for 6 years as Executive Medical Director until he took an interim role as the Japan Asia Pacific Region’s Medical Lead in R&D in April 2016. He has been appointed to become General Manager and Representative Director of Amgen Astellas BioPharma K.K. since December 1, 2016.
Before joining Amgen, Dr. Tennyson worked for Merck and undertook extensive leadership roles from Medical, Sales & Marketing to Corporate Affairs.
He earned M.D. and Ph.D from Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1983.
Kurt Helge Rimkus, M.D., Ph.D, Head of Research and Development
Dr. Rimkus joined Amgen Astellas BioPharma on April 1, 2016 from Shire Japan KK where he held the position of head of Medical Affairs since 2012. Prior to that he worked at MSD KK and its predecessor companies Schering-Plough K.K. and Nippon Organon K.K.,from 2005 to 2012, always as head of the respective Medical Affairs Departments.
Dr. Rimkus earlier professional background includes leadership roles in Marketing & Sales of Diabetes Blood Glucose monitoring devices and rapid diagnostics at Boehringer Mannheim Toho K.K. and in Clinical Development at Boehringer Mannheim Toho K.K. and Nihon Schering K.K.
Dr. Rimkus earned an M.D. and Ph.D. in pathology from the University of Saarland, Medical School in Germany and he pursued further studies at the Hyogo College of Medicine in Japan. He was trained in Urology at the University of Saarland and at the Hyogo College of Medicine.
Yukiya Suzuki, Head of Sales & Marketing
Mr. Suzuki joined Amgen Astellas BioPharma K.K., on October 1, 2013 as Head of Marketing. Prior to joining Amgen Astellas BioPharma, he was Executive Director of Strategic Planning at Product Marketing for Astellas Pharma Inc.’s Sales & Marketing Division. He began his career at Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., - one of the precursor companies that merged to form Astellas in 2005 - in 1988 and was in charge of sales and marketing. He has served in various positions at the company, including Executive Director of Urology at Product Marketing, Sales & Marketing Division. He graduated from Meiji Pharmaceutical University in Tokyo with a master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences, and from Nihon University with a master's degree in business administration.
